Hinduism, a logical perspective

The very basic thing is a misinterpretetion of the religion, rather the word religion. Religion was basically supposeed to mean a philosophy that some people, not all, would follow dilligently. It had nothing to with methods of worship and devotion to some imaginary people bestowed with all supreme powers in the mythological STORIES. Hinduism, a philosophy that dates back to untracable past of human existence never mentioned any inhibition on food or anything, as Swami Vivekanand said in one of his lectures, “Ours is not, and neither others, a kitchen religion that asks you to eat, or not to eat a particular food.” The Hindu philosophy, or I should say Sanatan Philosophy expresses in crystal clear words that everything in this world is Sanatan, that is, it has it’s prescribed time limit, within which it is to perform it’s prescribed duties, adhering to the true knowledge about the duty. In the real Mahabharat, no where is it mentioned that Krishna had superhuman powers, he is just presented as a very intelligent man, a great visionary, and a man of values and virtues. The three Gods of this philosophy are Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Now who are Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh, not not 3 men, one with 4 heads, one lying on a snake and having a snake around his neck. No, that is so male chauvinistic to present the supreme powers in male form. Brahma is, Brahma gyaan, the true knowledge, and hence, if you  put yourself away from true knowledge of things, put yourself away from logic, analysis using that knowledge, you’re an evil. This obnoxious proclamation of Hinduism and anti-Islamism or any relegion is evil, it must be eradicated for Brahma to prevail. Next is Vishnu, Dharma; Dharma does not mean a particular method of worship, it means duty, the reason it rhymes with karma, deed. Vishnu is Dharma, duty, and we must fulfill our duty, but what our duty is, what our dharma is what Brahma, knowledge tells us about. Our  duty is not to say that pother religions are bad or denounce anything that is done by man. If a muslim eats cow, which in our religion is considered equal to mother, does not mean we will denounce Islam. Try putting logic to things, Islam grew in the deepest of deserts, vegetation is the last thing they’d find there, and that is why they eat almost every animal, they’d need something to survive. Why pigs are considered impious is not known to me, for I haven’t read the Islam philosophy yet, I’ll do that soon though. Denunciation of Christianity, similarly, for their alchohol is also wrong, places where Christianity grew, mostly European countries, are too cold, and it is almost next to impossible to live there without having a peg or two of alchohol. Next is Mahesh, Time, the last, and rightfully so, because it is perhaps one of the most powerful of all for with others, you have an impact on the world, while they themselves too, but Time, it takes control over you, your soul, and everything about you. I don’t think there is a need to explain what Time can do, everyone is more than aware of its powers.

Speaking Volumes: The contested ground of Anandamath

Was Shafique-ur-Rehman Barq, BSP member of Parliament, justified in walking out during the singing of the National Song?
Nilanjana Roy digs into Bamkimchandra’s Ananda Math, whence the Song has been taken and discusses how it was incorporated as the National Song by our leaders. There is a difference between the National Anthem and the National Song, and their treatment can be differed. Nilanjana Roy expresses the difference in a meticulous way considering all the dynamics of the equation. A must read for an enlightened view of how to look at these situations, and not create a useless chaos by interpretting things from an obnoxiously one-sided religion-based perceptive.

If it were not for the refusal of Shafique-ur-Rehman Barq, BSP member of Parliament, to join in with the singing of Vande Mataram, I might never have gone back to Bankimchandra’s Ananda Math and rediscovered its many charms.

Ananda Math starts with a lyrical description of a vast forest, trees entwined so closely that no human hand (or foot) could tread on these hallowed grounds. Having made this amply clear, Bankimchandra, in the finest traditions of writers breaking with petty convention, introduces a human voice, cutting through the silence of the forest to ask: “Shall I ever have my heart’s desire?”

Two humans toss the question back and forth: what will you sacrifice, asks the second. My life! answers the first. Life, says the second voice, is an insignificant sacrifice. Anyone can offer this up. “What else can I offer?”…

Mr. Prime Minister, you’re Late!

As David Cameron returned from his visit to the Jallianwala Bagh, two of our friends, Mr. Sarcasma and Mr. Smirkar met him. They happened to have a small chat, which left the British Minister a bit humiliated, a bit fuming and somewhat embarrassed. Here is an excerpt from the chat.

Smirkar:  So, you visited the place where many years ago, a representative of your erstwhile government opened fire on 100s of innocent, harmless Indians, who were protesting against the tortures that levied upon our ancestors, by one your barbarous ones. How do you feel about it.

David: The Jalianwala Bagh massacre was a deeply shameful act in British history.

Sarcasma: And the Koh-i-Noor on the British crown stands as an emblem of that shame. Anyways, putting the past behind, what steps do you plan to strengthen the bonds between the two Nations?

David: We must never forget what happened here and we must ensure that the UK stands up for the right of peaceful protests.

Smirkar: Mister Prime Minister, you’re late! anyways, better late than never!!!!!

Abheek : – All this is in good humour, no disrespect to anyone, and I, hereby apologise, in case this is a cause of any unhappy feeling to anyone. Mr. Cameron included…#As if Mr. Cameron’s gonna see my post, and really give a damn about it….:P

RIP Jalliawallah Bagh victims

We the People…..And our Government!!!

Mumbai shaken by 3 blasts…….the Govt. is treating Kasab with Biryanis…..wellll….all that I can do sitting here is Pray for the departed souls to rest in peace and for the almighty to grant strength to those who were left physically handicapped and psychologically deranged owing to this lack of security that our Govt gifts us, with their heads held high in pride…..pride that they are following non-violence while the citizens are being screwed and killed for their non-violent moves….welll…do they care….cos ain’t this non-violent move earning them moolahs to fill up their Swiss bank accounts and accolades.

Mumbai recieved three blows this evening leaving a score dead and 113 wounded….well that is the count till now, there surely exists a number larger than the death toll released yet. Well even the Home Minister of the Nation has said that the number shall rise. So, Mr. Minister(s) and the Mumbai Police, where the hell were you guys while those bastards were planting the bombs.

Well, not only the Police and the government, what were the “Alert” citizens of our nation doing when these bastards were busy doing their job. Quite obviously, they were busy working their ass out to earn their bread. That may sound justifiable for the poor Rickshaw puller or push cart Sabjiwala, he doesn’t have time to take his eyes of the road, neither is he educated nor informed enough to have known whom to report. Police, well if he goes there, the constable would probably charge him a 100 bucks(his only income of the day) to just console him that some day he would look into the matter. So to report a possible crime, you need to have money.

Everyone else in the market, everyone else is too busy in doing his job to chid it off  saying “chhod na yaar kiske pas time hai????? kuchh na kuchh hota hi rehta, koi apna scooter chhod k ja rha hai ismein apna kya jata hai….”

We seriously need a change in our attitude towards life, we are too busy in our ownselves. It is only if we have the gumption to change, shall we see new kind of morally alert leaders rise from amongst us and lead the nation in a better way. India Shining, otherwise, will always remain the dream of every citizen of India.
